New material

Rightmind is back in the studio working on new material for our live show. We've written two new songs, "High-strung" - an uptempo tune in 6/8 - and "Double-dose" - a throbbing downtempo piece. We've also re-arranged many of our album songs for live, including new versions of "Weakest spot" and "One of the few". Come catch us at our next live!

Welcoming Yoshinori Tabuchi !

We are pleased to announce the addition of Yoshinori Tabuchi to RightMind! Yoshinori brings 14 years of guitar playing and song writing experience, and is a graduate of the Fukoaka School of Music. With only a few hours of practice, Yoshinori surprised our audience by playing a near-perfect acoustic set of Rightmind songs at our first gig together on April 20. Yoshinori is also the co-founder of the pop-funk unit ColourNote. Welcome to the band, Yoshinori!

Announcing our first album ...

We are pleased to announce the release of our first full-length studio album, "repeat the cycle", recorded and produced in the band's own "Brainwash Studios" in Tokyo. The album blends stomping acoustic/electronic beats, gorgeous guitar riffs, and gripping vocals to create an addictive sound that crosses multiple genre. Lyrically, the album deals with themes of lust, heartbreak, and dissappointment, but is also seeded with elements of hope and optimism. Standout tracks include "a matter of when", a brooding electronic trip-hop track, "the man I should be", an upbeat sci-fi hymn, and "one of the few", the album's sinister glitch-retro finale

Contributors to the album include Dave Henderson on lead vocals, Naoya Okumara on guitars, Hayato Takahashi on keys, Yuuka Kosugi with backing vocals, and additional arrangement / production by Yellowdevils and Chris Parren. The album was mastered in the UK at Tubemastering by twice Grammy nominated engineer Andy Jackson. All songs were written and produced by Dave Henderson.

You can pick up the album at our release party (details to be announced shortly), or through major retailers such as iTunes, amazonmp3, Rhapsody, CD Baby, and more. The album will be released on March 20

New material

Rightmind worked in the studio in late October to put finishing touches on two new uptempo tracks, "A dream of you" and "A little vision". Intended for live performance, both songs reach above 150 bpm and feature a more rock feel than on our album material. "A little vision" was arranged by Yellowdevils and features a screeching synth solo in the breakdown. We're very happy with the new material and look forward to performing these songs live

MIDI-driven LED light show added to live line-up

The band spent a few weeks this summer, after feedback from our first live shows in June, working out how to create a custom LED light show to match the music and video for our live shows. After much back-and-forth technical support, we figured out how to sync a computer-driven dmx light show with MIDI from our audio computer to give us perfectly synchronized lighting for our live show. To give the show some extra flare, we invested in 4 LED bars, 2 moving head LEDs, 4 strobes, 3 LED spots, and 4 17" inch video screens. We look forward to sharing our new technology with guests at our next live in September !
